Where to stay in the center of Manaus

My main tip for you who is looking for a place to stay in Manaus is: stay in the old town. From there you can walk to various attractions and get to know the city. Of course, this tip applies if you have no special need to be near somewhere specific because of work, proof etc...

In this post you can check out some hotel options I experienced in the center of Manaus, i'm sure some of them will please.

Boutique Hotel House Theatre

Roof of the terrace of hotel Casa Teatro

Close to Largo São Sebastião already descending towards Av. Getúlio Vargas the friendly townhouse transformed into a hotel, camouflages the local architecture. With super attentive staff, decoration full of details that refer to the world of classical music, the Hotel Casa Teatro can be considered the weakest option of this list. That doesn't mean it's good., well located and with a delicious terrace with a viewto the Amazon Theatre, that doesn't make you want to go away. But there's a lack of “upzinho” in detail for him to get note 10.

Hotel Saint Paul

Hotel Room Saint Paul

In a more traditional hotel model, and away a few blocks from Largo de São Sebastião, nothing far beyond 500m, you can opt for the Hotel Saint Paul. The facilities are great, and breakfast a delight.

House of Friars

Entrance of the Hotel Casa dos Frades in Manaus

A baby full of history, was inaugurated amid the pandemic chaos of 2021. The House of Friars, facing Largo de São Sebastião, stuck to the delightful Monsignor House and the Church of St. Sebastian and a sneeze of the Teatro Amazonas. The former Franciscan convent was renovated without losing the spirit of the simplicity of the congregation. In a mix of hotel/museum, filled with items the House of the Friars still houses a charming terrace that can be used by guests, dayuse or even rented for parties, Celebrations, photo essays, among other events. I've already arranged with Beth that when I'm getting married, I'm going to do a rehearsal there..

I had the pleasure of staying there for a few days, if you want to know how was this experience click here that tell more about the facilities, construction history and its transformation into a hotel in a super relaxed chat with Beth over breakfast. This chat that was very inspiring and yielded beautiful fruits in my life after. Thank you Beth!

Perpetual House Boutique Hotel

Entrance of the Perpetual House, impossible not to be enchanted by this hotel

Half a block away from the Amazonas Theatre, with a charming little bar on the ground floor, the boutique hotel is the request for you who wants to feel part of royalty. In the same footprint as the House of Friars, Casa Perpétua blends the spirit of hotel and museum/antique shop. Each room is unique, and there are so many interesting items that you lose time admiring every detail that makes up the décor. For those looking for a more account hosting and enjoy interacting with people, the good thing is to stay at the hostel which is recommended by the Iguana Tour, the Local Hostel of Manaus. Just like all mentioned earlier it is stuck there in Largo de São Sebastião and the reviews are great! Next trip to Manaus I will personally meet and make photos.

Juma Opera

Juma Opera | photo booking

Facing the beautiful Amazonas Theatre, inaugurated in 2019 Juma Ópera is a celebrity hotel in the city. In addition to the rates that include breakfast you can opt for a day-use of the hotel space. When I quoted, proportionally, was worth much more worth a day than the day-use by the price difference. In case you don't stay there, nor opt for day-use, you can still visit the Juma Opera just to eat in the restaurant that has vegan options. But my vegan informant said she didn't find the options that amazing..
