Diving into the World of Tim Burton.

I don't remember precisely when Tim Burton came into my life. I think the earliest memory I have is be watching in afternoon session Edward Scissorhands, and he stick the waterbed. But at that time I had no idea who was Tim Burton. I believe that just like in my life, He went discreetly in the daily life of each, and over the years we became able, (without great effort) to identify your aesthetic so characteristic.

Who has never seen Batman The Return with the iconic great Penguin Danny DeVito? (I've always loved this movie, and only relatively recently I find it was directed by Tim Burton) Or if you fell in love with displaced Jack Skellington trying to understand the spirit of Christmas? Or who never spoke Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

Tim Burton won a Disney scholarship to study at the California Institute of the arts. He studied animation for 3 years and soon after was hired by Disney as an apprentice animator. He worked in the drawing the dog and Fox, and during that period he made his first 3 short films: “Vincent”, “Hansel and Gretel” and “Frankenweenie”.

Frankenweenie, now known by almost everyone, with the friendly story of a boy who tries to resurrect his dog hit by a car as in the story of Frankenstein, It was considered too dark for Disney (TAG still well that times change) at the time, and ended up yielding to Tim Burton your resignation.

Tim Burton finally got space to launch The ghosts have fun It won the Academy Award for best makeup. From there he was called to do Batman and later Batman The Return. From then on it was just hit, mixing horror and comedy as only he is able, and with an extremely peculiar aesthetic, Tim Burton has become an icon of world filmography.

Coincidences of life (or not) on my last trip to SP decided to take a chance and try a ticket. Of course everyone was sold out until next month, BUT, However, However, However, for tickets on Sunday had not exhausted, since Sunday the sale is direct at the box office on the same day. So I was so excited, and I got the 8:00 in the morning to face the line at the box office that only would open the 10:00. In line employees distribute to 4 stickers per person, don't lose them! Are the guarantee of you buy your ticket, in the box asking for the stickers as proof. The line was great but not giant, After the opening of the box office, quietly I chose my schedule to the middle of the afternoon, I paid, (they only accept $$ or debit card!!) and I went to Freedom again wait for my friend..

Back at 3:00 pm to view the exhibition, It should be in big bags and backpacks volumes, I was so happy to leave the heavy backpack she was almost there, I left the Museum without anything, I'm glad that I remembered at the last moment before taking the Uber. Even with an appointment you stand in line waiting for only allowed in some 100 people at a time, is super quiet, no need to be nervous.

You go up some stairs where count some of the sources of inspiration of the Tim Burton as the Eastern and mainly Godzilla movies (but those older versions anything Hollywood). After the L-shaped room you can admire numerous originals and a carousel of faces of Jack Skellington. Now enjoy this walk because after you went down you can't go back. Downstairs are 5 meeting rooms, with original, pictures, movies and various dolls, among which you can walk to feel like coming and going. Think of the things that I loved, taking all documents, was the design of the Penguin Batman the return. You see that there could be someone else if you don't Danny DeVito, out the videos can only be viewed with a special plate with polarizer, found super magician, and the collection of napkins designed is cute.

a taste of the exhibition
a taste of the exhibition

I'm a fan but not both, I say this because the word fan lately comes attached to some criteria on which don't fit. Haven't watched all the movies, I don't dress like his characters to get exposure or any event involving Tim Burton, I don't know all of your life, much less his biography of backwards. Just like much of his work and aesthetics (I remember I wrote a paper in college about it, that was pretty cool).

As I already told everyone who asked me, the exhibition is amazing for the material, because the drawings are BEAUTIFUL, and there's always a phrase or sarcastic remark on the side, It's really cool, I fell even more by drawings. The lines are an amazing delicacy. Just love!

Now, I thought a pretty big fuss by exposure that is, I expected more, I found small I confess. I think he's got history and material for an exhibit more amazing. For example I would love to see a stop motion puppet that they use, nowadays they are so high-tech that has buttons on the back of the head that make the expressions change. But they only had a few study models of dolls ...

Not to mention the store of souvenirs, my specialty, (does not have a place I visit I don't pass by these shops). I found a single poverty, prices on the other hand were a robbery. The Tim Burton's universe is so large that Rico has plenty of material for material development and dissemination. The catalog was R$ 80!! I skimmed through and I didn't think it was worth the investment, stayed on the shelf even. The pencil a traditional item in my collection also stayed because of the price and the lack of grace in the drawing, the shirt was $ 30, Super bland and like all staff ... Honestly they could have invested a little more time and attention in the development of parts. Tim Burton deserved.

If I had gone to São Paulo just for that would have been very very upset. Good ... but who's going to São Paulo just to one thing is not even?
