Eagle Skydive – Parachute jumping in Resende

As I've told here I have a fixation on flying for as long as I can remember. I started to kill my cravings when I jumped of paragliding 2013 with the Mosquito. It was an incredible experience, see São Conrado is magical, even more with the sea in color that was, but my will had not yet passed. I tried to plan several times but just clearing up that in 2017 I decided I wasn't going to get another year without killing my desire to jump parachute.

 

Choose a place to jump is a task that requires patience and research. Near Rio de Janeiro have Raj with a good jump Centre and Boituva in Sao Paulo as one of the main centers of Brazil's parachute jump. For the sake of closeness I ended up opting to jump in Resende. Coincidence or not had other crazy interested on this adventure, so we arranged a convoy to go to Resende and kill this desire.
Jump school chosen at the end of the research was the Eagle Skydive. Recommended by friends know all the commitment of the team. The contact was made via whatsapp, Dida was always very thoughtful passing all of the information we needed to organize for adventure. After we define what type of jump that we would, We place the value for the reserve and there is an offering to Santa Clara for the time open this weekend! Since I was going to kill my desire of childhood, presenteei me with the VIP package, mainly by missing a month for my birthday, It was only fair that a good gift.

Arrive in Resende doesn't have much mystery, difficult is to wake up the 4:30 in the morning to leave the bus station 6:00 (as we recommended) and reach the 8:00 at the airport of Resende. Everything gets more complicated when you omit the family to where you're going hahaha, but everything worked out in the end. The jumps are made on weekends and are confirmed on Friday. The reservation must be made by Thursday- jump week fair. We bought our ticket on Friday when the jump was confirmed and the weather forecast from blue sky. The bus going to the City Road presently of steel, each leg prices vary around R$ 37 ( conventional buses leaving Resende) the R$ 52 ( Executive bus) to buy the site without difficulty. Drive is also very quiet, but taking into account the time, the fact of not having a car, and I never have caught road, We went by bus even to put on my sleep.

I thought I would sleep that rock on the trip but not rolled and despite the sleep, We arrived quickly at the bus station of a morning 8:00 Resende, to go to the airport the Dida offered us a santa ride, finding us at landing. Arrive early means to be released first, as anxiety is my middle name nothing more natural than wanting to get up early.

I spoke briefly with Dida, you've told me have more than 3.000 jumps on account, and I was impressed with my photographer (Nick) He had almost 400. He said he began to jump from parachutes and military in 1990, then in 2003 He studied free heel and since 2010 works as an instructor. In addition he is part of the team the comets since 2007, a skydiving team of Brazilian Army, to participate in Championships and demonstrations in Brazil and abroad.

The process to jump can be summed up in 5 steps

1 – PREPARATION

We received instructions, We are equipped with the clothes for the jump, and all that “vest” where then we stuck to our instructors. We wait patiently to be called to takeoffs that start the 9:00 ( If the weather is good, of course ). They have a table on the wall where mark takeoffs and with whom each instructor will fly. Our take-off was the third of the day, We booked before we can get the three together. Erika rose with Dida who to match her red hair put a cap of Angry Bird Red, I went with Flavio that like I said, is all that is left for me hahaha and Henry with the PC.

2 – SCENIC FLIGHT

We hear third takeoff on 10 minutes and direct us to board the plane. At this point they've already recorded some videos with us, wondering why we are there, practically an interview hahaha. I, person who has never been a fan of “TECO-teco” I felt chills to climb the ladder of airplane, entering in the order decided by they stayed one after the other in two stools.

Could not have asked for a prettier day, the blue sky was virtually without a cloud. I haven't touched in the colors of a picture the blue was anyway! In the plane the instructors if they tie us, is tight, I felt safer than in a roller coaster. Our scenic flight over Resende allowed view the pico das Agulhas Negras, Hopper and Rock dam, We climbed for nearly 15 minutes until you reach the 12.000 feet (about of 4.000 meters) Tall. At this point the retractable gate opens, the wind comes, the red LED turns green and “VAMO BORA!”

3 – JUMP / FREE FALL

Attraction to the abyss:
A problem that almost everyone suffers when looking down from a high place, and that I have full, complete and total consciousness that I own. Looking out the door of the plane and know that you ( This time ) can jump without fear that immensity, raises an unprecedented adrenaline. Erika was in front and I second the jump plane. It takes place at the door and put your legs out struggling against strong wind. And in less than a blink of an eye you're outside, with the wind changing shape your face like playdough, the wind passing by you and in my case with the photographer running back was AMAZING!!! Until after almost 20 seconds of freefall. The parachute is opened.
I take feeling addicted… mainly in the free fall I want to do it again!!!

 

4 – THE OPENING OF THE PARACHUTE

The parachute opens to 5.500 feet (about of 1.500 meters) Tall. The heat that I expected be strong was super quiet a slight tweak only. I gave my goodbye to photographer who still continued a little longer in freefall. After the parachute open if you do not use contact lenses can remove the glasses to enjoy the view. I didn't do much faith in Resende was impressed with the beauty of the mountains and the dam of the funnel.

During the parachute flight, Flavius left me fly a little flight. By the time he sent a side pull, and down in a spiral, screamed crazy was a MAXIMUM!!!!

5 – THE LANDING

Vero ground approaching is the sad news that the tour is at the end, an arrow and several windsocks signaling which way we should land, the landing is very, very quiet. Only problem is crazy desire to get on the next flight to jump.

With a grin on his face, photos and movies in hands, We left for the bus station. This part is kind of boring because there's no taxi around, but the folks at Eagle Skydive gave us a contact who was in 10 us. The bus back buy on time even gave no problem, had few vacancies but ok, gave back, better than having bought in advance and be desperate.
