Boat in the Formoso river

Who never dreamed of doing rafting? How many times we did not see in those sports programs people happy going down the waterfalls or turning the boat? I always thought I was going to Lumiar to do it but our trip to Bonito came first.

Our ride was in the Eco Island Port Park, but it's not just the boat ride Eco Park offers. You have several other options to enjoy the river, can be of float cross, Duck (that's like a kayak), Stand up Paddle or even enjoy doing slacklining over the river. You arrive with schedule time and identify yourself, change clothes and expects to be called. Several boats dating. All are required to put lifejackets. As we were boarding we were informed that the sern is more shaky and is more animated, so, we sat beside of our guide, in the back.

Some paddles are distributed between the animated crew, that will take turns during the ride because nobody hold rowing for too long, hehehe. As we went down the Formoso river people in kayaks accompanied us doing the photos, Since it is strictly forbidden to take anything on the boat, so, their only chance to have photos of the ride is buying the CD at the end of the tour. if you have more people on the boat to split, the price of the CD it´s cheaper, after all it is not so expensive, iIf I'm not mistaken it was a 15 reais. At a certain point of the ride all the boats begin to attack each other with water, each of them has a big bucket, that in the end ends up serving for emptying the boat that is filled with water after the wars.

Ours wasn't very successful, we had some bad luck, our bucket didn't have a handle, so we ran the risk of pouring water and the bucket might go together. We took lots, and lots of, of water. As I was at the stern of the boat I too it away the excess water.

As we neared the water falls the guide asked us to be positioned on the inside of the boat, until then we were sitting on the edge. It is necessary to bend one leg and extend the other to the other side doing a latch and hold the ropes. You know that the falls are coming when you begin to listen the cries and laughter of the boats ahead. Each descent it´s a great screaming (simple) widespread and many laughs, hehehe.

Very cool, but I honestly expected that the falls were higher and consequently with more adrenaline. But it was fun. Already towards to the end of the tour the guides make us take a dip in the Formoso river, throw yourself out it´s easy, climb after without a ladder it´s complicated , even more when they start talking about how it's common to find snakes over there. If the Guide didn´t stay in the boat to give a helping hand when it was time to climb back, we would be floating there untill today trying to climb up, hehehe. On the last fall our guide did a maneuver at the last minute and went down with the boat backwards, it was a light shock.

When we docked at the pier we left running because it was our last day and we still had another tour scheduled. We bought the Cd with the photos that also came with images of Bonito´s attractions. We passed quickly to get our bags and set off for the last ride of Bonito: the fluctuation in the Sucuri river.
